Organize ye desktop
11/14/2024
I myself am a computer person, so it always bugs me whenever someone doesn't know how to use a computer. I never usually get visibly frustrated though, since it's not like they've been using these things since they were six. Now what does bug me more than it should is a messy desktop. I hate messy desktops. I usually clean my desktop when it starts to get random files in places they aren't supposed to be. My desktop may be weird to some people, but I don't just put things on my desktop for no reason. I have very organized bars of folders (fig 1). At the moment I have more than I'd like on my desktop, but that's okay, because I'll probably fix it sooner or later.
Don't get me started on the family computer. Usually the desktop has just half of the screen completely filled with files, and- wait- wh- the desktop is clean? (fig 4). See folder "Messy Desktop 2024." look inside. "Messy desktop2020." look inside. "Messy desktop 2018." look inside. "Messy Desktop 2016," "Messy Desktop 2015." That, my friends, is how my family deals with the desktop.
Now I should probably explain my desktop (fig 2). Over at the left of my screen I have all of my shortcuts. I don't use them very often, but they can be helpful sometimes. At the top of my screen I have a bar of folders for my random stuff. I don't often use them, but they are very important. That's also where my random files go. A little below that to the right is my main bar. That's where I keep all of my important stuff. It used to be on the left but Google would cover it, so I moved it to the right (fig 3). Yes I do use Google windowed, I know I know, such a crime. Anyway, undernieth that I have a few bars of random stuff, and to the left of it I have a bar of slightly important stuff. Undernieth that bar of slightly important stuff, I have a rectangle of random stuff, which is actually where this very webpage is stored on my computer (HTML related > website four thing > tangents > Organize ye desktop).
I'll answer some questions you might have about my desktop.
1. How did you get custom icons for your folders?
I set custom icons for my folders by editing their properties and making them use an icon from my icon folder on my desktop. I was going to put a link to a good video here, but I can't find one, so I made one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhOoGJ4UdOs
2. What is the "dumduk pictures" folder?
That folder is where I keep all of my images for the mediocre animations I used to make on my channel
3. What is the All YouTube Sponsors.txt file?
I like that one. Basically, any time a youtuber has a sponsor in their video, I put the sponsor in my file. Some might have already expired though.
4. What is in the "screenshots (DO NOT LEAK)" folder?
Wouldn't you like to know. ...Well I'll tell you one thing. The video it relates to was unlisted/privated so I can't show you.
5. How do you manage this desktop?
By knowing where everything is.
6. WHY THE HECK IS YOUR TASKBAR ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN?!?!????
because i want to and you can't stop me.
